Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT

Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT It is a polypropylene sheet with a nodule structure, coated with a geotextile on the back.
It is a universal base for ceramic coatings as a decoupling layer, waterproofing and vapor pressure compensation layer, and serves as a base for installing heating cables.

Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-DUO It is equipped with a special 2 mm thick geotextile on the back which, in addition to allowing the cement glue to adhere, also reduces the noise impact and speeds up the heating process.

The substrate on which DITRA-HEAT is laid must be level and sturdy. To glue DITRA-HEAT, a hydraulic cement-based adhesive is applied to the substrate using a notched trowel (recommended 6 x 6 mm). DITRA-HEAT is glued to the entire surface of the fleece on the back, which is mechanically fixed to the adhesive. The open time of the adhesive must be observed.

In the floor area, heating cables can be laid immediately after gluing DITRA-HEAT with a minimum interval of 9 cm (every 3 nodes ≙ 136 W m²).

When installing in the wall area, the heating cables are laid after sufficient adhesion has been achieved.
In this case, it is possible to choose between a placement interval of 6 cm (every 2 nodules ≙ 200 W m²) and 9 cm (every 3 nodules ≙ 136 W/m²). In the wall area, the use of plates is recommended.

The ceramic coating is correctly applied directly onto DITRA-HEAT using the thin-layer method in accordance with the applicable regulations, with the cement adhesive on the special nodule structure of the DITRA-HEAT membrane.

Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT/-HEAT-DUO is waterproof and resistant to the chemical influences common to ceramic coverings. In areas where this is required, a proven joint waterproofing can be created with DITRA-HEAT/-HEAT-DUO.
With the cable testing system Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E-CT can be used to measure the resistance of Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cables and the remote sensors supplied with Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E controllers. The test system monitors the resistance of the heating cables throughout the installation phase. In the event of damage, the installer is informed by an acoustic signal. The cable test system switches off 60 minutes after its last use (it does not have a value storage function).
