Schlüter ® -DITRA-DRAIN is a safe joint drainage system that permanently eliminates capillary moisture. Installation on the outside is carried out using adhesive cement on a joint waterproofing system such as Schlüter ® -KERDI, which is applied to a screed with a slope.
Schlüter ® -DITRA-DRAIN 4 consists of a closed polyethylene film and a truncated cone structure approx. 4 mm high, on which there is a lining with a filter fabric. Part of the cone structure consists of truncated and inverted pyramids approx. 2 mm high, forming chambers with square concavities that are open on the underside. These are used to fix the adhesive cement, which must be applied with a 6 x 6 mm notched trowel onto the joint waterproofing and completely applied to Schlüter ® -DITRA-DRAIN. The cones are truncated and close together, and can absorb very high pressure loads (up to 50 t/m²). The cones cut out in the shape of truncated pyramids enable good joint adhesion to the substrate.
Schlüter ® -DITRA-DRAIN 4 is particularly suitable for indoor use and for small outdoor areas.
Schlüter®-DITRA Frequently Asked Questions
How is floor-heated screeds heated?
How is floor-heated screeds heated?
The Schlüter®-DITRA and Schlüter®-DITRA-DRAIN uncoupling blades allow the blades and tiles to be placed on the unheated screed. The screed only starts to heat up seven days after the construction of the coating is completed with a rise of 5°K until the operating temperature is reached. The heating normally necessary for coordinating the cutting areas is not applied.
In terms of radiant floors, we refer in particular to our Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM climate controlled ceramic floor.
